La estación de Maçanet es un epicentro muy importante de comunicaciones, porque constituye el único nudo ferroviario que existe entre Girona y Granollers.
Sobre clima:
El clima es mediterráneo, húmedo y templado. Este clima, más bien excepcional en el ámbito mediterráneo, resulta muy favorable para la vida vegetal. La cordillera pirenaica protege la zona de las masas de aire provenientes del norte que provocan grandes heladas en invierno. Durante los meses de verano, suele llover a menudo, por lo que el clima no es muy seco. En cualquier caso, los veranos lluviosos se alternan con otros que no lo son tanto.
